PROPOSED ITINERARY • SALTA • 05 DAYS / 04 NIGHTS
Based on my own experience I would recommend a minimum of 05 Days / 04 Nights. This will allow you to visit the City of Salta, and most of the main alternative destinations such us San Lorenzo, Cafayate, Cachi and Purmamarca. This would be a full itinerary that will give you a whole perspective of the beautiful and picturesque destination.
CM • If I were you, and if you have the spare time to do so, plan to spend an overnight at each of these three locations Cafayate (vineyards), Cachi (traditional northern town) and Purmamarca (Jujuy world renown for the Mountain of Seven Colors). Trust me you will not regret it.
• DAY 01 - ARRIVAL TO SALTA CITY
+ Arrival to Salta City
+ Transfer to the hotel of your choice
+ City Tour of Salta, San Bernardo Cable Car and San Lorenzo
+ Diner at Antigua Restaurant
• DAY 02 - SALTA TO CAFAYATE
+ Full Day Tour to Cafayate
+ Lunch at El Terruño
+ Visit to the local vineyards and wineries
+ Return to Salta City
+ Diner at La Casona (typical Gaucho diner)
• DAY 03 - SALTA TO CACHI
+ Full Day Tour to Cachi
+ Lunch at Sala de Payogasta
+ Visit to the town of Cachi
+ Return to Salta City
+ Diner at Doña (regional food)
• DAY 04 - SALTA TO PURMAMARCA
+ Full Day Tour to Purmamarca
+ Lunch at xxx
+ Visit to the town of Purmamarca and the Salt Mines
+ Return to Salta City
+ Diner at Osadia Restaunrat
• DAY 05 - DEPARTURE FROM SALTA
+ Day on your own
+ Transfer out to the Airport
CM • I do not recommend doing the famous Train of the Clouds. Been There, Done That and I honestly hated it. I would rather do the same itinerary on 4x4 wheel drive, which actually is covered by the proposed itinerary.
