I was browsing through some websites and ran across a picture and thought to myself: "I know that person" and sure enough, it was a picture of you as the winner of the contest. They couldn't have chosen a more deserving person. One that represents the ideals of leadership, education, community service all wrapped up in a gorgeous package.

Good Morning Carlos, I wanted to thank you for arranging our tours and show in Buenos Aires. Bert and I really enjoyed ourselves there. What a beautiful and friendly city! I want to thank our guide that did the City Tour (we have forgotten his name), but he did a great job showing us around the city. The Eva Person tour was wonderful as well, though we did not make it to the cemetery where Eva rests (realized afterward, we did not get there).  And the Tango Show was fantastic.  We also had  a good time  in Colonia del Sacramento despite the cloudy weather.

For your information, we were pleased with our stay at Claridge Hotel for their service, amenities,  and location. For us, this was an ideal location. Wishing you the best. Thanks again. Erik and Bert

Hi Carlos! How are you? I'm already in São Paulo, on my way home...

Iguazu was fantastic!!! I meet some guys there, at the hotel, and it was even more pleasurable. The services were very nice. Everything very well organized, people very professional and nice. The top of the tryp for me was the boat in the falls!!!! I just loved it!!!

With LAN (very nice plains and crew) i had a small probleme comming back to BsAs... Don't know why but my reserve was canceled by "no show". I explained everything that happened and they had resolve the situation.

Something to FORGET are Aerolineas Argentinas!!! They are really bad!!!! The plains are old, crew not nice and when i tryed to come back to São Paulo they was on stryke. Two thousand people in the aeroport and we could not see any one, but anyone from Aerolineas! No information, no nothing. In the check-in area, on the office there was no body to give the face. It was really bad! I was in the Aerolineas office one day before asking how was the flights, and they told me that everything was ok... can you believe it?

I alreaddy sended an email to all my collegues saying "never use Aerolineas"!!! At the end i had to buy a ticket with LAN, and everything was ok...

Dear Carlos, Happy New Year from Doug and I. We would like to thank you for the various tours that you arranged and accompanied us on during our recent stay in Buenos Aires, it made all the difference to our holiday. Needless to say Doug did buy some (many) things on the last day – me I never found the tile ! I wish you luck in LA at the contest – although having looked at the competition I would say that you are the most handsome – by a long way. Next time you are in London you would be most welcome to stay at our house, or use the flat in Brighton.

Hi Carlos, Just wanted to say thanks for the help during our trip to Buenos Aires this past November.  Love the city.  The apartment you set us up with was just what we were looking for.  That bus tour... that was crazy, not sure about that tour company!   Anyway, we're planning to come again and see more of the country and take in a little more of the city life in Bs As.  Fascinating place.

Brazil was more of a challenge. I can see why Argentinians for the most part can't figure out why anyone wants to go there.  Sao Paulo is nuts.

Rio de Janeeiro was really great though and Parati was definitely worth the trip for the down-time.  Bs As was the highlight for me, though, for sure.

Carlos, It is amazing how time slips away.  My apologies for not contacting you sooner. Thank you for all your assistance and time to make my stay in Buenos Aires a wonderful one.  It is quite the city!  The last day I was there, I ended up downtown early and thought I would be back later in the day, but ended up wandering up Av. Santa Fe to Palermo and spending the day walking and soaking up the city.  Of course, lunch at a café with a couple of glasses of wine topped it off.  I feel that I definitely got the flavor of Buenos Aires, and now I know what to see more of when I return.

Oh, before I forget, the Tango Show was top notch and I enjoyed it thoroughly.  The meal was fantastic, the wines were good and the entertainment very polished.  I do agree with you that the ending is a little too Vegas for my tastes and not really in keeping with the rest of the show, but I can’t expect perfection. Thanks again, and I will be recommending your company to others who plan on heading down to Buenos Aires. Cheers, Brett

Hi Carlos, here's my summary as promised. (1) Transfer from EZE to apartment - perfect 10/10. (2) Apartment - very good. The elevator was out of order 4 times, once for 2 days & we had to carry our luggage up after visiting Mendoza. You already know about the noise issue from 8D. Very good location & secure 8.5/10. Javier was EXCEPTIONAL - he gets 11/10. (3) Mendoza - the hotel (Bohemia) was very good 9/10. The "wine" trip was terrible. We only visited 2 wineries (not 3) and those 2 visits were a waste of time. 1/10. Fow lovers of wine (the reason we went to Mendoza) that trip isn't appropriate - just FYI if you have any wine lovers from Australia in the future. (4) Pto Iguazu - hotel St George was very good & great location 9/10. The tour to Argentinean side of the falls was perfect & our guide fantastic - 10/10. We didn't go to the Brazilian side because the vise cost was 500+ pesos in BsAs. (5) We were both very disappointed that we didn't meet you in BsAs. Overall we had a fantastic trip. I'd recommend you & we'll use you again when we visit next. Maybe we can meet on that trip!. Cheers. Barry

Thank you for all of your assistance - all of the arrangements you made for us were great.  Everything went without a hitch - The guys at the apartment and the apartment itself was wonderful.  Would be happy to recommend them and yourself. It was a pity we did not get to meet you in person.  I have been reading the latest Australian DNA Magazine and there is a long article on the Mr Gay Competition in Whistler.  You were mentioned a few times - small world. Once again thank you for all of your help and best wishes for the future

I wanted to include you because you’ve been so helpful and because over the coming months we are going to be doing interviews with various Mr Gays from around the world and we’ll probably need more help from you! I understand the glaciers are melting quite fast, is that the case? Should we see them before they disappear? Yes, we’d love to have some travel stories from you. Cameron is doing Buenos Aires, I have some other people doing Santiago sp if I get you to do a South American destination that would be excellent. I’m open to the suggestion Uruguay. Can you tell me more?

For my first visit to Buenos Aires I was put in touch with Carlos Melia by one of my publishing colleagues. Carlos helped me find a great apartment, offering a variety of fantastic properties in a range of BA’s most desirable neighbourhoods. The one I finally decided on was perfectly located between the exciting downtown neighbourhoods and the uber-trendy Palermo districts. It was equipped with everything I could have needed and more.

During my time in BA Carlos made sure I experienced some very exclusive restaurants and nightspots, places I would not have discovered myself if I hadn't known. He also hosted a walking tour which was a lot of fun, starting in San Telmo at 10am and finishing in Palermo many hours later after a lot of pavement-pounding and many laughs along the way.

I’d highly recommend using Carlos' services for your visit to Buenos Aires (and greater Argentina), whether a first time visitor or returning for more.

I’m looking forward to going back later this year to see the south of Argentina and to attend the Creamfields Festival, all coordinated by Carlos of course!

Hi Carlos,

Had a great stay at your apartment. Unfortunately, our plane from Santiago was a little late so your dad had to wait around for us which we apologized for. Everything worked as should and building staff are very nice and helpful. Two suggestions to make stay more pleasant: the shower/bath grout really needs a good cleaning/bleaching or even replacing as there is a lot of mold; a second set of keys would make it more convenient for guests, as we weren't always together and had to juggle schedule to be there to let one or the other in. Good location, nice space, convenient and most importantly for me in a big city - quiet! I will recommend to others I know visiting. Brian.

I just wanted to send you a quick thank you note. We are safely back home and had a wonderful time in Argentina. Thanks for the arrangements. Every single thing went smooth and on time. We were also very happy with the recommendation to the Axel Hotel. Staff were amazing and so was the facilities. The Tango Rojo show was great and the Day trip to Colonia unforgettable.

We just got back to BA. had a wonderful time in Iguazu.. the waterfalls are awesome. 

The tour guides were great. transportation was on time and comfortable. the hotel was Panoramic awesome. the room had an amazing view.. the restaurant had delicious food and great service. the front desk staff very friendly. the airline was on time and we had great seats... so all in all a wonderful time. Thank you for all the arrangements and recommendations. Oh, and the Extreme Tour was very exciting as was the great exciting.  :) Take care Carlos.. look forward to another adventour somewhere soon.
