PROPOSED ITINERARY • PUNTA DEL ESTE
Based on my own experience I would recommend the following itinerary:
>> WINTER SEASON // 03 DAYS / 02 NIGHTS
Based on my own experience I would recommend the no more than 02 nights. This could also be combined with a pre or post visit to either Montevideo or Colonia del Sacramento.
>> SUMMER SEASON // 06 DAYS / 05 NIGHTS
This is the minimum number of nights that hotels request for the high season. If you plan to stay less than 05 nights, you will end up paying them anyhow.
CM • Keep in mind that the high season is from the last week of December till the 08th. January. This is the time where all the major events and parties take place... but you will need connections connections to sneak in. GOOD LUCK. !!!! Now if you ask me... my favorite time is November. You pay half the price and get the best weather... but you’d better come with someone special or a group of friends.

Punta del Este is a great destination to enjoy either during the summer time or the winter, with complete different scene and options. If you decide to visit during the winter, prices are very competitive BUT I do not recommend to stay over 2 nights. During the summer, from DEC 20th till January 20th. is the HIGH season and expect to pay as much as 3 times the value, that if you get lucky and book in advance.
Jose Ignacio, is approximately 40 minutes away from Punta del Este. If you are looking for a place to relax and disconnect from everything, but still close enough to Punta del Este, then don’t think twice. Now you will need a Car to commute back and forward.
The area of Punta Ballenas and Chihuahua Beach are consider the mixed Gay and Clothing Optional Beach.
CM • If you want to enjoy the best of best worlds, plan you holidays around mid November. It is sunny, not too warm, not too crowded and prices are still very reasonable.

> CHIHUAHUA Gay Beach at Punta Ballenas.
> The Light House at Jose Ignacio.
> Tea at CAFE CITRUS Jose Ignacio.
> Lunch or Diner at LA HUELLA Jose Ignacio Beach.
> Visit the famous Hand Sculpture over La Brava.
> An afternoon stroll around the commercial area of La Barra.
> A gambling night at CONRAD Hotel, Resort & Casino.
> Glass of wine/champagne over the sun down at Casa Pueblo.
> Lunch at LO DE TERE, over the breathtaking balconies facing the yacht club.
(*) The gay scene changes year by year. The day hotspot is CHIHUAHUA Gay Beach, where you will get acquainted with all the who is who, and the private gay happening which usually is the most interesting.
