Punta del Este is a great destination to enjoy either during the summer time or the winter, with complete different scenes and options. If you decide to visit during the winter, prices are very competitive BUT I do not recommend to stay over 2 nights. During the summer , from DEC 20th till January 20th. is the HIGH season and expect to pay as much as 3 times the value, that if you get lucky and book in advance.

If you want to enjoy the best of best worlds, plan you holidays around mid November. It is sunny, not too warm, not too crowded and prices are still very reasonable.
