Dishoom Bombay Cafe  |  London, UK  |  One of the last true Indian Cafes left in London. Fans turned slowly. Bentwood chairs reflected in stained mirrors, next to sepia family portraits. Opened early last century by Persian immigrants, there were almost four hundred cafés at their peak in the 1960s. Now, fewer than thirty remain. Their loss is much mourned by Bombayites, but Dishoom is still standing and offering great Indian delights.
Great selection Indian style tapas and Lassi drinks, Go for the Naan, Biryanis and Soups, specially if like me, you enjoy to taste and scent of Coriander. Two floors, low lights ambience and expect to sweat… specially if you are into spicy. Ideal for a small group occasion. Prices are very reasonable, but portions are small. Dishoom @ 12 Upper St. Martin’s Lane London. CM
