El Quenepo Restaurant Puerto Rican/Asian fusion  |  Vieques, Puerto Rico  |  Guided by our Guest Relations agent at the W Retreat & Spa Vieques, we learned about El Quenepo Restaurant right at the malecon of Vieques, only 10 minutes drive away from the Retreat. As they like to call it ” Fun, Funky, Island Food”. Run by Scott and Kate Cole. Quenepo is the fruit of a Tropical Tree that grows in the area of Vieques.

Quite sophisticated, intimate and romantic for Vieques standards, I would risk to say the top gourmet experience you will get in the island. Very knowledgable friendly waiters, great drinks.
I started off with a Thai Tom Kah Soup, which was average, on the low spicy side, missing the classic kick of a Tom Kah, to pay tribute to their Puerto Rican / Asian Fusion concept.
Main course, you must try the Mofongo stuff with Lobster and Shrimp, a typical Puerto Rican dish. But also you have other fresh local options like Conch. For more information about El Quenepo visit (www.elquenepo.blogspot.com) 148 Calle Flaboyan, Vieques. Also other Restaurant option that came highly recommended was the Next Course Restaurant, but unfortunately we did not have enough time to try it.  Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
