Glenn Hotel at Luckie Marietta District  |  Atlanta, United States  |  If there are four mayor must see attractions in Atlanta, they are all located at the Luckie Marietta District, and which is the best hotel option in the neighborhood… well to me the Glenn Hotel. That is where I spent two nights hosted at one of their Dream Suites on the 9th floor with panoramic views of what is know as the walkable Atlanta.  Downtown Atlanta’s first boutique hotel is part of the distinguished Autograph Collection by Marriott offering unique 4-star guest experience, personal host program, Glenn’s Kitchen, SkyLounge affording some of the best views of the city from the stunning.

Do not be deceived by the Zip Code. !!! Downtown Atlanta used to have a very bad reputation, but all that has changed over the years. Rather busy during the day and very quiet at night, hosting four of the main attractions of Atlanta, to be CNN Headquarters, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and the Centennial Park. Also great restaurants in the area. Only 10 minutes from Midtown and 25 minutes from the airport.
Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted with a welcome experience instead of a check-in process, a refreshing libation to delight you and a warm, scented towel to refresh you after your journey. Now imagine that you are offered the services of a Personal Host throughout your stay at our Downtown Atlanta hotel. Your needs are known, they are proactively tended to, and you are treated as if you are staying in the home of your very best friend. Well let me tell you, that is what they promote, but that never happen to me at all, but still they were very professional and in no time they got me registered and off to my suite, but hmmmm not drink nor towel involved.
The view from my room was lovely, and I had this view both from my living room and bedroom, with four windows in total. Views, both beautiful at day or night of the Centennial Park, Bank of America building and the Westing Hotel. SkyLounge rooftop bar also is another spot of the hotel where you can enjoy views of the greater Atlanta area while zipping through some of their signature cocktails.
Dream Suites have a separate living room with flat screen LCD televisions. Suites also feature a working area with a stocked bookshelf and desk supplies to compliment the spacious desk and Herman Miller ergonomic desk chair. Amenities include: two 32″ plasma TVs, iron, in-room coffee maker, in-room safe and iHome docking station – all for ultimate relaxation and convenience. The sleek designer bathrooms are outfitted with plush bath linens, rain flow shower heads, H2O bath products and “peek-a-boo” windows. This suite is 450 square feet. You into open bathrooms/shower ? can be sexy, but personally does not really do it for me. But hey, it is an option if you are traveling solo, and can be fun if traveling accompanied.

Cozy hotel rooms include 93 Superior and Luxe Rooms and 16 Dream Suites and the fabulous Penthouse Suite.  Rooms include three different bedding types: King, Queen or two Double beds. Rooms include complimentary wireless internet access, ample working space and warm ambiance. Something not mentioned in their website, you should know, is that they do have a basic fitness center open 24 hours, and if this is not enough, they have an special agreement with the gym, next door at the CNN building, so pack your workout gear. A great business center is open to use for guests at the hotel, I was on a work trip, and had all my meetings there and it was a great added value.
The Glenn Kitchen is where you will have your a-la-carte breakfast every morning, and you can also enjoy some great options during the day either at the living room, located at the lobby, the restaurant itself or your room (till 11PM).
My only recommendations for the hotel is to live up to the standards of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. This photo was taken as soon as I walked into the room. I would say that the conditions I found my bed, does not quite meet the standards. Autograph Collection, uncovering every detail. Infusing every journey with the spirit of discovery. Welcome to the Autograph Collection, an evolving ensemble of strikingly independent luxury hotels. From near to far, iconic to historic, openly seductive to charmingly secluded, each destination has been curated for its bold originality, rich character and uncommon details. Nevertheless, I had a great stay and I would risk to say, the best boutique young and hip hotel option in Downtown Atlanta. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator –
