GPS Carlos Melia at Plage de Saline in St. Barth  |  St. Barth, West French Indies  |  There are just no words to describe this island, and coming to see Plage de Saline yesterday, has left me speechless. Stunning natual beauty, that images will speak by themselves. All I have to add is that Saline is know to be the Gay Hotspot of the Island, specilly to the left side as you walk to the water. At the far end, also in a very European style, you have the fully clothing optional area.
Located only 20 minutes away from any point in the island, like everything else, it is the beach to see and be seen. The ritual is… lunch at the restaurant next to the parking lot, called Le Grain de Sel. There you can try local Creole style food, and specialties from the island like Conch. Warning. !!! you will be surrounded by Iguanas everywhere… just spectacular.
The beach is just breathtaking with its beauty and sights. Not too crowded, not to empty. Water temperature is a bit cold at first but warm once inside. The shares of blue and turquoise, turn into fully transparent once in. Surrounded by lush green vegetation, and the most important point is that there is no construction whasoever along the beach line. I fully fell in love with this beach, which I personally would rank along with those in Krabi Thailand at Prahnang Beach, as the most spectacular in the entire world. Plage de Saline, in the Anse de Grande Saline in the West French Indies, Caribbean… totally worth the visit. CM
