HANSAR Bangkok  |  Bangkok, Thailand  |  During our last visit to Thailand, only a few weeks ago, we have the chance to experience and enjoy our  lovely Vertigo Suite at the HANSAR Bangkok. I would describe it in a few words as Sweden meets Japan in the heart of one of Bangkok premium locations. Suites are steeped in modern comfort and amenities, contemporary yet timeless in style and adorned in Jim Thompson silk. HANSAR in sanskrit translates as Happiness and Joy, taking its inspiration from Thai culture and from the lively and generous spirit of the Thai people.
HANSAR is meant to be enjoyed, experienced and rediscovered each visit. Wireless internet is free in throughout all guestrooms and public areas, fresh exotic thai fruit is waiting in your room upon arrival, your mini-bar is complementary and replenished daily, bath salts and flowers welcome you to enjoy our custom Terrazo tubs, spacious suites and incredible down bedding beckon back from wherever your day takes you.

Surprising spaces unfold in this 82 sqm Vertigo Suite with king bed cantilevered over the city, which will leave you dizzy with delight. Enter the expansive separate lounge with designated work and living space, with floor-to-ceiling bookcases filled with contemporary artefacts that celebrate Thai design ingenuity, a sophisticated work desk with Wifi and a comfortable lounge space complete with flatscreen TV, DVD player and iPod docking station. Dual dressing areas and vanity, glass-walled rainshower with city view and Terrazzo bathtub.

Unfortunately, since we were just connecting overnight in Bangkok, to head to our next destination, the Golden Triangle, we only got to spend one full day and night at HANSAR. Therefore we were not able to try their Luxsa Spa nor any of their restaurants. But we did, indeed, tried their Pool & Fitness Center.

Take a break at the sky-bound infinity-edge swimming pool and Jacuzzi on the eighth floor, offering changing facilities with steam rooms. Take a deep breath and dive in, slicing into cool waters as the sounds of the city disappear. Or, just while the hours away on a comfortable lounger on the spacious wooden deck marveling at these serene surrounds set high above the bustling city below.  The perfect Bangkok morning could begin with a session of yoga in the fitness centre on the eighth floor – balance and stretch as your body awakens to the new day. Or, plug in your favourite tunes and crank up the speed to log a few miles on the treadmill as you look out onto the green surrounds of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. Keep up with your fitness regime no matter what your schedule – in true Hansar style.

Comments about HANSAR are: I was not too crazy about the Lobby Concept. Although I do like the outdoor Bellmen’s Desk, the design of the ground floor and the main lobby are a bit confusing to me. It makes all feel smaller and dark. We were quite impressed the following morning, when we checked out at 6AM in the morning, when we got to our transfers to the domestic airport, we had two bags with our breakfasts packed to go. Kudos for that.
Above the view from our suite, overlooking the private golf course of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. Location wise, could not be better, off Rajdamri Road, Lumpini and one block away from the BTS SkyTrain. Also the HANSAR Bangkok is only steps away from the Four Seasons Bangkok and the St Regis. A teaser for many more future stays at HANSAR Bangkok. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
