La Villette Sunday Brunch | New York, United States | Today our friend Tom from Orient-Express invited us to go for Sunday Brunch with him, and we came all the way down to the Village to his coup de coeur restaurant La Villette. When you live in New York, you tend to become a bit territorial of your neighborhood and district, so to be honest in the worst judgemental way, we were a bit put off by the zip code in the beginning, but knowing that Tom was doing the picking that was already legitimizing the option. And also, how posh does it sound to have Brunch over Downing Street right…
All I have to say, is La Villette from now on is a keeper. Great French Brasserie and Cafe, with a lovely ambiance and a quiet scene. A great way to enjoy a nice Brunch catching up with friends. Menu is lovely and very affordable, mind the stylish ambiance.
As starters, we all shared Les Petits Plats: La Tapenade aux Tomates Sechees olive and sundried tomato spread (USD 9) and Les Crevettes au Citron et Cayenne Tiger shrimp suateed in lemon and cayenne pepper (USD 14).
As my main course I went for the Poulet Organic aux Epices de Louisiane pan seared Cajun rubbed chicken breast, french fries and salad (USD 19). No alcoholic drinks for anyone this time, had a rough night last night and needed to lighten up, so we enjoyed great cappuccinos. Thank you Tom for the recommendations and for your company as usual.
