Le Bristol Hotel Paris | Paris, France | A few days ago while in Paris, researching for options for a very important client of mine, the name Le Bristol Hotel came before my eyes while walking along rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. Of course I knew about their existence, but honestly never paid attention to them, judging mainly by their exterior. Before contacting them, I asked around, and one dear friend told me …” it is a French cliche for American travelers…”. So I took the challenge and I did some research online. I was quite happily surprised, when I realized that I have met the sales team before at one of the international Luxury Travel events, and more so when I found out they are part of the Oetker Collection, hands down one of my favorite luxury hotel groups. So I need to come to see it with my own eyes, and so very happy I did. I scheduled an appointment for a site inspection followed by lunch at 114 Faubourg. After my visit, I can say I could not disagree more with my friend. Perhaps he based his ideas on the fact that Le Bristol became from June 1940, the home of the American embassy and American nationals living in Paris. But that was way long ago. I feel that Le Bristol Hotel Paris, represents sophistication, class and elegance in a very traditional manner, but yet quite cozy, understated and informal. A very interesting mix of crowds coexist in a very calm but yet dynamic atmosphere. Of course a very desirable address, for those looking for some extra cache and convenience.
Old time traditional charm. Their internal patio is marvelous, a true oasis in the center of Paris. Rooms and suites are like petite jewel boxes. Pet friendly. Lunch at 114 Faubourg was quite good, very crowded with a mix of local business crow and tourists. My mouth is watering for my next visit to try Epicure Restaurant by Chef Eric Frechon, triple Michelin-starred chef. So next time, I will make sure to have Le Bristol Hotel and my official headquarters in Paris. Le Bristol is named as a tribute to Bishop Frederick Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol, an eighteenth-century traveller famed for his love of comfort and the high standards he demanded. (hence why you will find several Bristol hotels around the world, with no other thing in common than Bishop Frederick Hervey.). What a lovely hotel and enriching discovery.
