Singapore Flyer World’s Largest Giant Observatory Wheel  | Singapore   |  Last night, on my first day in Singapore, I came to the Marina Bay area in Singapore to take a flight on the local version of the London Eye Wheel. Experience breathtaking, panoramic views on the world’s largest observation wheel. For locals and tourists alike, there is only one place in Singapore  that offers a bird’s eye view of the entire island city – Singapore Flyer.

I have been to many Observation Wheels in the world, but what makes the Singapore Flyer unique other than being the biggest in the world (title they will only hold till 2013, to be taken by the new wheel being constructed in Las Vegas), is the stunning and breathtaking views of the Marina Bay and the skyline of Singapore. I would strongly recommend taken the last cabin of the afternoon, to see the sun set and the city of Singapore  light up to life.

Enveloped safely in a capsule, 165m above ground level, you will be treated to a visual 360˚ feast of iconic and historical landmarks such as Singapore River, Raffles Place, Merlion Park, and Empress Place. Catch glimpses of the neighbouring Indonesian Spice Islands and the Straits of Johor, Malaysia while watching the ships sail serenely by.
We were hosted on a private 28 minutes ride at the exclusive Champagne Cabin by Moet & Chandon. There you will not only enjoy the best views of Singapore and Marina Bay, but also seep your way through bubbles and play your own tunes on the Bose speakers set for you to plug your own iPhone or iPod.
There is a very interesting point. The wheel was conceived and design, like most things in this part of the world, on the basis and lineaments of the Feng Shui, where the number 28. Prosperity and abundance. 28 cars, 28 turns a day, 28 minutes. Same with the turning way of the wheel, which has been designed to bring prosperity and abundance to Singapore and not to take it away and through it to the sea.
