Sunday Brunch at the iconic Rainbow Room | New York, United States | Sunday Brunch in Manhattan along my partner Rubin Singer and my dear friend Michael Romei, took place at the iconic and famous upscale rooftop restaurant and events space, the Rainbow Room. Located at the 65th floor of the NBC Tower, atop the 30 Rockefeller Plaza. I was so excited to explore and experience Rainbow Room, influenced by many stories of such unique New York landmark. We had a lovely afternoon celebrating the end my my Birthday week.
An icon of timeless style, the stunning Rainbow Room has continued to amaze guests for over 70 years. With its famed chandelier, historic décor, and jaw-dropping views of Manhattan, Rainbow Room promises an experience that is quintessentially New York. Recently refurbished to its original grandeur, this landmark venue is now open again for Sunday brunch and Monday night entertainment.
As you arrive to the 65th floor, and walk by the host desk, the first room you will see is the Bar, with your first take on breathtaking panoramic views of Manhattan. From there, you will be escorted to the left wing and main room, were you will enjoy a lovely Brunch experience on a bird-eye experience or Manhattan.
Celebrate the weekend or a special occasion, as we did celebrating the end of my 41st Birthday week, in true city style with Chef Jonathan Wright’s delightful menu inspired by world cuisine. Sunday is positively chic when it’s at the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Prix fixe menu is $95 for adults, excluding beverages, tax, and gratuity.
The Brunch buffet was quite impressive and well presented. All you can eat from 12 noon till 3PM, with options from all around the world. As we arrived, the room was rather quiet, but as the Brunch progressed, it got very busy and happening. But I must say that still remained pleasant and with acceptable noise levels.
Check their website for further information on the ongoing Enterntaiment schedule. During our Sunday Brunch, we Carte Blanche Jazz Band: 6-Piece jazz ensemble Carte Blance keeping vintage standards white-hot with classic French, Latin and American jazz standards from the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s.
After our Brunch, I have the chance to do a behind-the-scenes tour of all the event spaces and rooms, including SIXTYFIVE Bar. Stunning and sophisticated lounge at the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, featuring a wraparound outdoor terrace with immersive, panoramic views of Manhattan and beyond. It’s classic New York with a contemporary twist. SixtyFive is open Monday through Friday from 5PM-midnight. Artisanal small plates created by Executive Chef Jonathan Wright are available 5PM-11PM. During Fall/Winter season, the offer is strictly indoors, but during the summer, they are working on opening the right wing, to have tables outdoors.
One of the highlights and hidden secrets of this unique Manhattan venue, is the private dinning space. Perfect for a small gathering or romantic celebration, overlooking the Hudson River and the New York skyline. Definitely keep this in mind. Looking forward to a soon return, this time for their Monday evening event, to experience the night rooftop experience. Carlos Melia Luxury Travel Curator – www.carlosmelia.com
