The Peak and The Peak Tram | Honk Kong Island, Hong Kong | Do you want to get the best views of Hong Kong, this time from Hong Kong Island to the bay and Kowloon… ? Then visit the area of Mid Levels and take The Peak Tram. Have you ever ridden on a Tram… ? Well it is highly time you do so, and the panoramic views at the end are worth the experience.
The venerable Peak Tram is, as most passengers agree, the only way to truly experience the beauty of Hong Kong’s natural wonders. Tens of millions of people from every corner of the globe have taken the ride, which affords a uniquely spectacular perspective of the city. The best way to enjoy the ultimate Peak experience is Peak Tram Sky Pass, offering you enjoyment of a trip on the famous Peak Tram and the fabulous panoramic views of Hong Kong from The Sky Terrace, the highest 360° viewing platform in Hong Kong. (HK$ 56 Round Trip).
My advise, get the tickets at the Concierge Desk of your hotel to avoid standing in line to get the tickets at the station. One more thing, the views from The Peak are both amazing with/without day light, so plan your visit (depending on the seasons) close to the sunset time. In this way you will get to see the panoramic views with sun + sunset + night view.
The views from The Peak are completely different from the ones you will get during the Show of Lights from Kowloon side. Both worth seeing and experiencing. Tram departs every 10 to 15 minutes.
The Peak, Hong Kong’s most popular attraction is more than just stunning vistas or great shopping and dining. It’s an amazing collection of unique must-visit attractions, providing you with a diverse fun-filled experience of Hong Kong’s living culture. Getting to the Peak by the Peak Tram is an unforgettable experience. One of the world’s oldest and most famous funicular railways, the tram rises to 396 metres (about 1,300 feet) above sea level. It is so steep that the buildings you pass look like they are leaning a gradient of between 4 to 27 degrees! Whether you are going up or coming down, you will love this trip.
Offering a stunning 360-degree panoramic view across the Hong Kong, the Sky Terrace standing at 428 metres above sea level, is a scenic spot that visitors could not miss. An added attraction on the terrace is The Sky Gallery, which showcases the works of the city’s talented artists.
Perching on The Peak at 396 metres above sea level, The Peak Tower is one of the most stylish architectural icons in Hong Kong. With an avant-garde design representing the epitome of modern architecture, the spectacular tower has been featured in millions of photographs and postcards across the world.
The Peak Tower is located at Victoria Gap and is directly connected to the city centre by The Peak Tram, which runs between the Peak and The Peak Tram Terminus on Garden Road, just a short stroll from the Central MTR station.
Unfortunately this time, due to my short visit, I was not able to take any of the Natural Trails. But I strongly recommend taking the time to enjoy the stunning vistas that can be found along nature walks enveloping the Peak, where visitors are greeted by lush tropical forests and extensive birdlife. Winding through mountainous landscape, the walks are both visually exciting and easy for visitors to access. Try one of the suggested walking trails at The Peak below to further explore Hong Kong’s diversity and sophistication.
