Q&A / Travel beyond COVID-19

Q&A Travel beyond COVID-19. Insight shared from out travel partners around the globe. For follow up questions, kindly contact us directly.

When are you foreseeing your destination opening back for tourists ?
The Maison will welcome guests again from October 29th, 2020

What measures have you taken to reopen post COVID-19 ?
Please address sterilization measures, security, mandates on staff and guests testing, transportation etc.
The well-being and health of our Guests and Ambassadeurs is at the heart of the initiatives put in place by our Maison to guarantee their safety without compromising the quality of their experience with us, at all times.  Thus, the protocols, perfectly in-sink with the measures decreed by the French government, have been integrated with our procedures to guarantee everyone’s well-being, and to offer those who so wish, a reduced number of points of contact.  Some of the most notable measures include:

> Availability of pre-arrival check-in, with only one signature required on arrival by means of a sanitized tablet
>
Availability of check-out in one’s room the night before departure
> Personalization of procedures, adaptable to individual requirements
> Widespread provision and availability of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes
> Training of all teams on precautionary measures and new protocols
> Respecting of physical social distancing
> Wearing of masks or visors by all Ambassadeurs
> Strict protocol of disinfecting rooms, air purification and increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all public spaces using certified products and equipment
> Significant reduction of physical contact points by the introduction of alternative solutions such as: oral communication, use of digital displays and media, etc.

It goes without saying that our teams remain entirely open to any specific needs of our Guests, adapting accordingly within the limits of safety measures.

How do you plan to enforce these measures and how will you ensure compliance?
Art-de-Recevoir is one of the core values of the Cheval Blanc identity. Today, welcoming our guests means taking care of them so that they can stay in the Maison with peace of mind. All our Ambassadeurs are trained to apply these measures.

How will these measures affect the overall regular experience ?
The adopted measures will be discretely implemented by our teams, to ensure peace of mind for our guests during their stay and to allow them to fully enjoy their experience at Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France.

Booking & Payment Flexibility Terms and Conditions during and after COVID-19 time.
We have updated our terms and conditions policy to prevent the uncertainties of the current situation. Each reservation will be treated on a case-by-case basis whenever deemed required. Flexibility and understanding will play a central role in the booking process.

Will you be offering any special promotions, packages and/or value adds?
We will offer our guests the same services and amenities as always including VIP amenities for those guest booking directly with you as our Preferred Partner. A 10% off on the room rate will be offered to celebrate our reopening. It will be apply to any stays between October 29th and December 14th, 2020 and for bookings made prior to September 30th, 2020.

How will you plan to maintain a level social distancing ?
In order to maintain social distancing within the Maison, interactions between guests and Ambassadeurs will be minimized, tables and loungers on the beach will be spaced apart. Access to the gym and the Spa will be subject to reservation.

Tell us about the current quarantine and restrictions within your destination ?
The island of Saint-Barthélemy is Covid-free since more two months. We are pleased to see that life is returning to normal. Merchants have reopened their shops and restaurants and the beaches are accessible. The borders have opened on June 22nd and the island of is now open to non-essential travels and tourism.

Please add any additional information you believe would be helpful to raise travelers trust levels in order to visit ?
In order to guarantee the well-being of every traveller, the government has put in place preventive measures before landing on the island. Travellers will be asked to provide a Covid-negative RT-PCR test performed within three days prior to their arrival. If this test cannot be carried out before departure, travelers will be required to do the test within 24 hours upon arrival. Until the results are known, travelers will required to quarantine at the hotel. If the stay is longer than 7 days, a second RT-PCR test will be requested on the 7th day after the arrival. Children under 10 years of age are not subject to testing.

Now on a lighter and positive note,

Have you taken advantage of this quiet months, to curate new experiences or discover new locations/destinations? If YES Which ?
Indeed, this period allowed us to embellish our Maison and to prepare fully for a new season.

What is your favorite feature about your property and destination that you wish to share with my clients/readers ?
If I had to pick one, beside of the beautiful beach of Flamands, I would say that my favorite feature about the Maison is its gardens who has been created by the American Landscape designer, Madison Cox (who also takes care of the Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech). We have more than 120 varieties of plants and my guilty pleasure is to stroll through the Maison gardens, guided by the lush landscape that surrounds me and to grab a fresh banana.

Effortlessly elegant and full of barefoot charm, Saint-Barthélemy is the best kept secret of the French West Indies. In only 21 sq km, the island of St-Barth boasts rolling hills, quiet beaches, fairy-tale towns and a lively port. The island has this “je ne sais quoi” of sophistication, simplicity and relaxed island charm which makes it so special.
