Q&A / Travel beyond COVID-19
Q&A Travel beyond COVID-19. Insight shared from out travel partners around the globe. For follow up questions, kindly contact us directly.
When are you foreseeing your destination opening back for tourists ?
Israel situation regarding tourists is unclear at the moment. We believe that during July Israelis will be able to fly to Green Countries without having the mandatory quarantine upon return. As far as tourists, We assume it will not happen before late August or September but again, everything here is changing on daily basis so it’s hard to tell.
What measures have you taken to reopen post COVID-19 ?
Please address sterilization measures, security, mandates on staff and guests testing, transportation etc.
As a DMC we will provide each guest in our cars: personal mask, hand sanitizer and disposable gloves. The car seats and platforms will be sterilized between passengers or every 12 hours on daily services. Our clients temperature will be measured at the airport by the authorities and by the hotels as well, therefore we decided not to bother them with another test. Each passenger will be asked to wear face mask when visiting sites that require it by law.
How do you plan to enforce these measures and how will you ensure compliance?
We provide personal one on one services to the tourists, therefore we rely on their understanding of the situation and the country rules and standards. Guides and drivers are instructed to explain Israel local regulation to each passenger.
How will these measures affect the overall regular experience ?
We don’t forecast any effect on our services.
Booking & Payment Flexibility Terms and Conditions during and after COVID-19 time.
We allow our clients flexible cancellation of 48 hours for airport VIP services and transfers and 72 hours free cancellation on private tours and activities. Hotel cancellation policy is based on the hotel policy subject to the client reservation and may change from one hotel to the next.
Will you be offering any special promotions, packages and/or value adds?
We will be offering promotions on airport VIP services and transfers.
How will you plan to maintain a level social distancing ?
As prior explained , as a transportation and DMC company we rely on the understanding and good will of our passengers. We will do our best to provide more seats than passengers in each service so we can keep social distancing between driver \ guide and passengers.
Tell us about the current quarantine and restrictions within your destination ?
At the moment the only ones who are required to stay in quarantine are Israelis that returned from foreign countries or been exposed to a confirmed Covid19 infected person. Museums are still closed, but national parks and historical sites are open for the public with a limit to the number of visitors. Visiting a national park requires pre-registration in order to keep the number of visitors low to allow social distancing for the visitors.
Please add any additional information you believe would be helpful to raise travelers trust levels in order to visit ?
As Superb provides services that are in house services, cars, guides and VIP service we can assure our guest that we do our best to provide the safest travel experience.
Now on a lighter and positive note,
Have you taken advantage of this quiet months, to curate new experiences or discover new locations/destinations? If YES Which ?
We have taken this time to renovate our new office, we joined forces with new service providers and attractions that will fit the post Corona travel experience without damaging the local experience.
What is your favorite experience at your destination that you wish to share with my clients/readers?
I would like to share two main ones. In my mind the MUST SEE in Israel are, the old city of Jerusalem and the Dead sea.
The Old City of Jerusalem is one of the most exiting places in Israel. At the heart of the Jewish, Islamic, and Christian religions, this one-kilometer, walled-in area in the center of Jerusalem is beyond words and is a must see
The Old City is home to the Western Wall (aka Wailing Wall and in Hebrew Kotel). This is the last remaining wall of what was once the Jewish Temple and is today the holiest site in the world for Jews.
The Dead Sea, is the lowest point on earth, surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Negev Desert. The special water of the lake are the source of the name because no fish can survive in the salty waters. The other result of the salty water is their renowned health and healing properties and the unique feature that one can float naturally in them that bouncy feeling always bring a smile to my face. don’t forget to use the black therapeutic mud! A rejuvenating feeling and not a bad photo as well.
My own Israel Experience
I must agree with Shlomi, some of my favorite experiences while in Israel, have been both my overnight at the Dead Sea, and exploring Old Jerusalem. But I must add, as well, my afternoon in the Judean Desert at Masada – UNESCO World Heritage Site, as one of the highlights.
