Young male Lion at Khwai River in Botswana  |  Kwhai River, Botswana  |  yes ladies and gentleman, today we officially can say that we’ve seen all animals one would expect to see coming to Africa. Well been 100% honest, we are still missing the Cheetah, but hey still 10 more days to come. Anyhow today during our afternoon safari at Khwai River Lodge by Orient Express, we have the honor and pleasure to enjoy the company for over 30 minutes, of a young male lion.
It can be one of the most sweet, tender but at the same time intimidating scene and experience of your life, knowing that in one second he will literally snap your head out. But I think this pictures speak for themselves right. (I must give the photo credits to Craig, since I on the rush of the hour, left my memory card in my MAC and realized that halfway through our safari.). He was there just a few meters away, rolling on his back, falling sleep and waiting for us to leave him alone to continue with his afternoon nap.
So far I would have to say that Botswana, has been the best Safari experience we have had during this last three weeks. Although, to be 100% fair, last week while at Lion Sand Private Game Reserve in Kruger Park, we we saw and got very close to a group of 18 lions (13 females and 5 young calfs)… more to come CM
